This novel, set in the 12th century Korea tells the story of Tree-ear, a homeless boy that has found his passion in pottery. While spying the great artist Min he breaks a ceramic piece and has to pay for the damage by working for him. During this time he learns all about the delicate pottery and wishes to learn to do it himself. When Tree-ear is sent to the King's Court to show his master's pottery he will experience life in a new way and have to take some of the most important decisions in his life.

It is culturally very enriching and the story is beautiful, full of emotions and feelings that make the reader develop an interest in Korean pottery. The book has taught me a lot about life back in this country.

In 2002 this book won the Newbery Medal for the most distinguished contribution to American literature and I think it fully deserves this title.

Eine Hand voller Sterne, Rafik Schami

"Eine Hand voller Sterne" zeigt die Lebenswelt eines 14jährigen Bäckerjungens aus Damaskus (Syrien). Über zwei Jahre lang berichtet der Junge in seinem Tagebuch von seinen Erlebnissen und Gedanken. Sein Vater möchte, dass er mit in der Bäckerei arbeitet, doch der Junge würde viel lieber in die Schule gehen und sein Traum ist es eines Tages Journalist zu werden, was in Syrien kein ungefährlicher Beruf ist. Er erzählt von der Schule, seinen Freunden, seiner Familie und auch von Nadia, die er liebt. Obwohl viel Armut und Ungerechtigkeit in Damaskus existiert, gibt es auch viele schöne Momente in dem Leben des Bäckerjungen. Einer dieser Augenblicke ist der Tag, an dem sein Gedicht in einem schönen Gedichtband veröffentlicht wird, was er u.a. einem engagierten Lehrer zu verdanken hat.

Der Leser erfährt in dem Buch viel über das Leben eines normalen Kindes in Damaskus, einem Land in dem vieles anders ist als in Deutschland, in dem Kinder und Jugendliche aber auch ähnliche Träume haben wie die Kinder hier.
Zu Beginn des Buches erscheint einem die Erzählung ein wenig langweilig, doch schon nach kurzer Zeit findet man Interesse am Leben des pfiffigen Bäckerjungens und man verfolgt gespannt seine Erlebnisse und hofft mit ihm, dass seine Träume wahr werden. Die Erlebnisse und somit auch die Tagebucheinträge werden zum Ende des Buches hin immer spannender, denn zunehmend geht es nicht nur um kleine Erfahrungen in der Schule oder in der Familie, sondern auch um Leben und Tod.

El mundo de Sofia, Jostein Gaarder

El Mundo de Sofía es, en la actualidad, el mejor y más accesible libro sobre la historia de la filosofía y el mayor éxito en la historia de la literatura noruega, además de constituir un best-seller en toda Europa.  El Mundo de Sofía es un libro que son dos libros. Por un lado, un completísimo y fascinante manual sobre las figuras clave en la filosofia y el pensamiento social, contada de forma divertida y fomentando la actitud de culturizarse y aprender. Por otro lado, una novela que cuanta la vida de Sofia y su relacion con la filosofia.

Inmensamente útil para quien estudie filosofia.

El palacio de la medianoche, Carlos Ruiz Zafón

El palacio de la medianoche es una novela de aventuras y fantasía, escrita por el autor barcelonés Carlos Ruiz Zafón, posteriormente recopilado en la Trilogía de la Niebla, junto a El príncipe de la niebla y Las luces de septiembre.

Me ha gustado porque es el estilo que me gusta,por la historia y porque una vez que has empezado a leer no paras.

Marina, Carlos Ruiz Zafón.

Marina es una novela fantástica desarrollada en la segunda mitad del siglo XX en la ciudad de Barcelona por el escritor español Carlos Ruiz Zafón.

Me ha gustado porque es de misterio y cuando lo empiezas no puedes dejar de leerlo.

Crepusculo,Stephenie Meyer

Crepúsculo (Twilight) es una novela romántica de vampiros. Es la primera parte de una serie de cuatro libros, de la que están publicados, además de Crepúsculo, Luna nueva, Eclipse, y Amanecer. Me han gustado porque es un romance peligroso.
