This novel, set in the 12th century Korea tells the story of Tree-ear, a homeless boy that has found his passion in pottery. While spying the great artist Min he breaks a ceramic piece and has to pay for the damage by working for him. During this time he learns all about the delicate pottery and wishes to learn to do it himself. When Tree-ear is sent to the King's Court to show his master's pottery he will experience life in a new way and have to take some of the most important decisions in his life.

It is culturally very enriching and the story is beautiful, full of emotions and feelings that make the reader develop an interest in Korean pottery. The book has taught me a lot about life back in this country.

In 2002 this book won the Newbery Medal for the most distinguished contribution to American literature and I think it fully deserves this title.

HULLABALOO IN THE GUAVA ORCHARD is the story of a young man who escapes from the comical confines of life in a sleepy Indian town, for the no less comical freedom of life in a guava tree. Once there, the previously timid Sampath finds himself at the center of an adoring crowd of pilgrims who mistake his knowledge of their private affairs (gleaned from reading their mail during his previous life as a lowly postal clerk) for spiritual enlightenment.

Chinese Cinderella, Adeline Yen Mah

Chinese Cinderella is the story of an unwanted daughter named Adeline Yen Mah. Her stepmother Niang always puts her down and abuses her because she is a bitch. She is battered down several times but Adeline fought back and never gave up.

Beatifully written you will enjoy it and learn a lot about China.

The boy in the dress is a very interesting and entretaining book. It is about a boy called Dennis that really likes to dress like a girl, and because of that he gets in a lot of trouble.

It is very easy to understand even if your english isn't so good.

Stargirl, Jerry Spinelli

This is book is about a girl that is different from the rest. Stargirl is new at the Mica Area high School .

Her appearance at the school has a big impact on Leo Borlock, a normal eleventh-grader whose life has chaged completly since knowing her.

This book is very different from any book I have ever read, even the cover is different.

I loved it.

The "Uglies" trilogy

Uglies is the first book of the trilogy. The second book is Pretties and the third is Specials. It's about a world in which everyone has an operation when they turn sixteen, making them supermodel beautiful. Big eyes, full lips, no one fat or skinny. This seems like a good thing, but it's not. Especially if you're one of the uglies, a bunch of radical teens who've decided they want to keep their own faces.
